Celebrate National Tequila Day with Verde Kitchen & Cocktails
National Tequila Day is July 24! Tequila is a tasty liquor on its own or in a cocktail. No matter how you like your tequila, consider spending National Tequila Day with Verde Kitchen & Cocktails!
Tequila is made from blue agave, which is harvested and fermented in Mexico. The history of tequila dates all the way back to Mesoamerican times circa 1000 B.C., but it wasn’t until 16th Century A.D. that tequila as we know it was born. The first tequila factory opened in a town called Jalisco, which is now known as Tequila, Mexico. The factory was started by Spanish aristocrat Don Pedro Sanchez de Tagle. Then, nearly a century later in 1795, Don Jose Antonio de Cuervo founded the first Vino Mezcal de Tequila de Jose Cuervo in Tequila, which is the most successful tequila brand to date.
Celebrating National Tequila Day is easy, all you need is a shot glass or cocktail containing this delicious liquor. In a survey conducted by The National Today, 3,000 people said tequila was their favorite beverage. Additionally, about one-third of survey-takers said they enjoyed margaritas, which are a popular beverage containing tequila. About 67 percent of people prefer a frozen margarita, while 33 percent prefer their margarita over ice, 65 percent like a salted rim, and 67 percent prefer a glass with no salt.
At Verde, we serve up a variety of margaritas for you to enjoy. We have a Verde Margarita, a pineapple coconut margarita, a tropical margarita, a strawberry basil margarita, a spicy pepper margarita, a cucumber jalapeno margarita, a spicy watermelon margarita, and a zicatela guava margarita. We also have tequila-based cocktails on our menu at Verde. Think about ordering the El Magico, made with 1800 coconut tequila, orange liqueur, Jarritos grapefruit soda, fresh lime, and toasted coconut dusting.
