Cinco De Mayo with Verde Kitchen & Cocktails
Cinco de Mayo is not a holiday that is celebrated throughout Mexico, but it is a great holiday to celebrate the people and the culture of Mexico. If you aren’t sure what Cinco de Mayo is, or how to celebrate, we have some ideas.
Information on Cinco de Mayo
Cinco de Mayo is a holiday in one town in Mexico, Puebla. It is a celebration of a military victory by Mexico over the French forces that were invading. While the town of Puebla celebrates the victory, restaurants and tourism agencies in the United States have increasingly seen Cinco de Mayo as a way to celebrate Mexican and Mexican-American heritage.
You can celebrate Cinco de Mayo in a variety of ways. Here at Verde Kitchen, we celebrate Mexican heritage all the time. You can start with salsa, which is a staple in any Mexican kitchen. We offer six different kinds of salsa, including a citrus salsa that is amazing. You might also want to try our cebolla salsa, which uses onion to bring you spicy and savory. We have lots of traditional meal offerings from the Oaxaca region, so you’re sure to get flavorful combinations of spice and slow cooking.
When you are looking for drinks, there’s no drink that says Cinco de Mayo like the margarita. We have the usual fruit margaritas, but if you are wanting something very different, try our signature pepper margarita, spicy watermelon margarita or our grapefruit ginger margarita. We also offer tequila made from the purest blue agave, and mezcal.
